Before You Dive In
The Hook & Setting
Setting: The planet Lilly, where rifts spawn monsters and a rift break can destroy a city. Rifts are graded by Tier, and delvers climb the Tiers.
Tone: LitRPG progression with an underdog orphan. Early chapters mix inn work, guild politics and rift delving.
System premise: Every character has a rated Talent, and the hero's is rated detrimental, so no guild will take him. He joins the Path of Ascension, an empire-wide race up the Tiers.
The Magic System at a Glance
Power comes from Talents, Skills and Tiers. Rifts are the main source of loot, mana and advancement.
- Talents: a rated starting trait; a detrimental rating blocks normal mana cultivation
- Skills: learned or acquired abilities, such as the hero's channelled defensive Skill
- Tiers: the rank ladder that gates rifts, gear and the Path
- Concentration potions and a Personal AI scanned at each Tier
