I · The Main Plot

Where We Start

Carl's group arrives in the flooded city of Larracos during a ceasefire with about sixty hours left. Nine armies are led by rich and powerful aliens, and the NPCs, normally cannon fodder, have become self-aware and formed a team of their own.

Major Plot Points & Spoilers

  1. Carl becomes a Warlord in charge of logistics. Donut gets a cloak that boosts her weakest stats and gives her a fire-wall spell. She appoints General Florin to lead the army.
  2. Carl and Donut recruit most surviving crawlers, Juice Box's NPC team, and thousands of former crawlers opposing the Syndicate to form the ninth faction. Odette runs the war council.
  3. The team gains a teleportation system and the stealth airship Party Planner. Carl gains the Gloom Wraith Phase combat skill and adopts Sir Rendlegore, a regenerating meatball pet.
  4. A rule change makes all warlords vulnerable. Per Wikipedia, Carl and Katia eliminate the Blood Sultanate members and the other warlords.
  5. Louis's heart and lungs are fused with Tagg, and if Tagg dies, so does Louis. Mordecai and Juice Box perform a transplant using naiad organs from a dead princess's flesh golem, so Louis can breathe underwater.
  6. Emberus, seeking revenge on Samantha, threatens to burn the floor within 66 minutes. Katia undergoes a divine transformation.
  7. Donut executes Huanxin Jinx, a corrupt corporate goddess. Justice Light dies, releasing captured entities and causing a multidimensional rupture, and a nihilistic force called the Nothing begins spreading.
  8. The Princess Posse wins the Faction Wars. Katia eats a sponsored flower and becomes pregnant, so she leaves for a safe zone, which lets Donut descend with Carl.

Where the Book Leaves Off
