I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
In Ninecloud City, Seishen Daji has been captured and Mercy sits in judgement at his trial. In the heavens, King Daruman and the Vroshir are attacking the Abidan.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- Daji's trial is skewed by Reigan Shen's meddling, so Lindon challenges him to trial by combat and wins; Daji is sent to the Akura prisons.
- Akura Fury ascends to the Abidan with an Akura entourage, urging Mercy to forge her own path.
- Lindon and Yerin convince Akura Charity to let them evacuate Sacred Valley. They go by cloudship fleet with Eithan, Mercy, Ziel and Akura Golds; on the way Eithan trains Lindon's new Authority and reveals he once advised Tiberius Arelius.
- In Sacred Valley Yerin's recent Herald ascension proves imbalanced and the boundary field hurts her. They reunite with Orthos and Kelsa and find Jai Long and Jai Chen helping the Wei exiles. Most clans and schools resist leaving; Lindon's family still sees him as Unsouled and betrays him, and he takes control by force.
- The Wandering Titan arrives. Yerin collects her favour from Malice to delay it and gets her Uncrowned Queen prize. Reigan Shen wakes the Bleeding Phoenix. Lindon and the others fall back to Moongrave, then return to drive the Titan off with Dross's help, which reduces Dross to formless dream madra.
Where the Book Leaves Off
Lindon grieves Dross, whose recovery is uncertain. Reigan Shen opens the Nethergate to the Western Labyrinth.
