Defiance of the Fall
Book 14 Recap· Released
TL;DR
Years of fighting have worn Zecia down, and the System only allows peace through force. Zac and his elite armies are sent to the front just as a Limitless Empire war fortress rises from the dimensional depths. He forms a Middle D-grade Cosmic Core on the Void Road, completes more Sealbearer rounds, gets a final seal quest for the next book, and ends by absorbing saint statue souls and a custom training regimen.

I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
Zecia is badly weakened by years of war with the Kan'Tanu Cult. Zac is an Early D-grade Hegemon with two bodies, and the System has pushed his armies to the front.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- An ancient war fortress built by the Limitless Empire rises from the dimensional depths. Zac is determined to keep it from the Kan'Tanu, who would turn the war with it.
- Zac spends much of the early book near his limits in constant fighting. Reviewers say a Seventh Heaven scion is dispatched quickly, the Atwood Empire withdraws from direct battles because it is 'too dangerous', and the war in Zecia goes badly for his side.
- A Void Road Tribulation Trial reforges his body (Ch 1,150). He loses about 30% of his muscle volume, but it is rearranged and concentrated, and he gains a few new muscles and tendons.
- More Sealbearer news: Yrin Tobrial takes the place of Yselio Tobrial by killing him after Yselio is judged compromised by the Sindris (Ch 1,158). Two Starfall seals finish a quest (Ch 1,160), and a Middle D-grade end node is conquered (Ch 1,166).
- The next Flamebearer quest appears: The Flame of Hope, to find the breach inside the Eternal Storm and light the Centurion Beacon. The reward is a Seal of the Left Imperial Palace (0/2) (Ch 1,166).
- Iz Tayn reappears with advanced bloodline and Dao (Ch 1,186). Zac forms a high-quality Middle D-grade Cosmic Core of the Void Road, receiving an unexpected tribulation for forming a Middle core (Ch 1,184).
- Third seals land for Janos, Emily and Ra'Klid, and not one of his original Sealbearers has fallen yet (Ch 1,193). Reviewers also mention Sap Trang's death, Ogras returning to the Azh'Rezak Clan, Emily being saved, Technocrat lore, and the introduction of Elysium and the Echelon class.
- In the final stretch Zac absorbs the souls of a set of saint statues and receives a customized training regimen from an entity. A ruined training site is converted into a Templar training site.
Where the Book Leaves Off
The book ends with Zac absorbing the saint souls and receiving his training regimen. It sets up a dangerous Technocrat mission for Book 15, and readers expect the Flamebearer trial at the Imperial Palace to follow. The war in Zecia is going poorly.
