I · The Main Plot
Where We Start

- Other powers are watching the clan's fast rise. The warlock Hexis wants power from the surface.
- If the warlock guilds learn the clan has mastered the occult, the fight against the slavers could become a war involving every side.
- To'Avalis is methodically plotting to ruin the Winterscars once they leave their refuge.
- The clan prepares to move underground with its new relic armor. Keith must navigate clan politics, protect his family's secret nature and prove to his father that he can survive what is coming.
Where the Book Leaves Off
The blurb gives no final-chapter detail. The Book 6 blurb opens with Keith as one of the strongest humans alive, trying to free To'Wrathh from Relinquished, so the next volume jumps ahead in power. This primer stops at the end of Book 5.
