I · The Main Plot

Where We Start

Per the Risingshadow blurb, a vast and unprecedented raider horde is uniting to march across the frozen wastes, destroying anyone in its path, and its route runs straight through Keith's clan. Danger stalks the surface and the clan's immortal leader is organizing a counter-campaign.

Major Plot Points & Spoilers

  1. The clan's immortal leader gathers allies wherever he can to fight the horde.
  2. Keith must uncover the secrets of an ancient power that once broke the world. The blurb says it may be the clan's only hope, but he has to pursue it alone.
  3. Meanwhile Kidra and a band of knights travel to the undersider city-state of Capra'nor to call in old debts. They find a frightened city under siege by an enemy that has returned.
  4. A new Feather rises under a violet banner, bent on vengeance against the Winterscars. She intends to take the city or burn it to ash.

Where the Book Leaves Off

The blurb gives no final-chapter detail, so the exact ending is not stated. The Book 3 blurb confirms the setup: Capra'Nor is under attack from the Undersider side and the clan is left without its leader. Treat Book 3 as the direct continuation of the siege and the clan's crisis.
