I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
Jason comes into Book 12 freshly returned from the cosmic conflict fought across his own soul, having repaired the Cosmic Throne (TV Tropes' Book 11 recap). The blurb says he is determined to reunite with his friends and take a gap year of simple adventuring.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- The official blurb says Jason's plan for his gap year includes manipulating a prestigious noble house into liberating a slave town, attempting to extort every government on the planet, and blowing up and rebuilding the occasional city. His opposition is angelic armies, scheming guilds, and people who want to discuss the time he altered the fundamental laws of magic.
- The wiki's Book 12 character list shows the state of the cast: Jason is now an Astral King with the repaired Cosmic Throne (also known as the System), guided through its restoration by Raythe, the prime avatar of the Keeper of Sands. In New York, Anna Tilden and her assistant Michael Aram monitor how the world reacts to the System.
- Team Biscuit members: Zara Rimaros is the newest member, Sophie is engaged to Humphrey, Belinda teaches at Rufus's school and is dating Estella, Clive has started the Magical Research Association to rival the Magic Society, Neil travels with the rabbit Nik, who is learning to be an adventurer, and Stash runs a secret bakery.
- TV Tropes' tropes page says an idea set up at the end of Book 5 and then dropped, hunting gold-rank vampire lords on Earth to absorb Reality Core energy from them, is picked up again in Book 12.
Where the Book Leaves Off
Neither TV Tropes nor the Fandom wiki summarises the final chapters of Book 12. The end-of-book snapshot they do give is Jason's appendix character sheet: Gold rank, 39% of the way to Diamond, a Prime Avatar of an Astral Nexus, with his four essences each filled. The cast roster shows Zara in Team Biscuit, Sophie engaged to Humphrey, Belinda with Estella, and Clive running his own research association.
