I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
Erin is in the city of Celum, surrounded by human faces but far from home and without her inn. Meanwhile Lyonette is living in the inn and Goblins are on the move.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- Erin is away from her inn in Celum.
- A 'certain ill-tempered Lyonette' is squatting in Erin's inn.
- The Goblin Lord's threat spreads across the region; the Redfang tribe has rallied with the Floodplains tribe against him, though their Chieftains disagree on crucial matters.
- Laken Godart, naturally blind, finds himself lost in Izril and must survive winter.
Where the Book Leaves Off
The publisher blurb states no cliffhanger and we have not read the text, so the exact final scene is unverified. The blurb closes on 'snow, Goblins, magic, and iambic pentameter,' which points to the volume ending with Erin still away from her inn in Celum. The Goblin Lord's threat, the Redfang and Floodplains Chieftains' disagreement, and Laken Godart's struggle through winter are all presented as unresolved. How the battle of Liscor or Zel Shivertail figure in the ending is not stated in our sources, so we do not claim it.
