I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
Alistair Tan is an ordinary college student when the alien cultivator Atavius Meloi arrives on Earth and kills over a billion people (Royal Road recap snippet). The Final Frontier Empire decides the fitting rectification is to initiate Earth into its ranks, and Alistair is separated from his girlfriend and friends.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- Earth is initiated into a universe-spanning empire of cultivators, beasts and powerful entities, governed by an AI System whose first quest is to kill someone (Audible omnibus blurb).
- The Empire installs a Pathfinder AI to assist cultivation, while orcs rise from the ground and attack; Alistair teams up with fellow loner Alexandra Lykaios and defeats the orc leader, clearing their subregion's monster wave and finishing the second quest (Royal Road recap snippet).
- Along the way the group picks up Donna and Tamia and saves Oliver Cambry, a necromancer falsely accused of murder (same recap snippet).
- They meet John Desmond, a fire cultivator, and the New Boston Alliance under Sofia Mostafa, then clear ogres nearby before meeting Anthony Ricci, the tyrant who rules the violent territory called Ricci's Empire (same recap snippet).

Where the Book Leaves Off
Our sources do not record the final chapter. Book 2's blurb shows the result: Alistair has triumphed over Anthony Ricci and is now Earth's second strongest human, ruling the Northeast Freehold, so Book 1 closes with Ricci beaten and Alistair holding real territory.
