With no quest, no guide and no wish to be a Hero, she fights monsters, punches things and tries to survive. I · The Main Plot
Where We Start
Ilea Spears is an ordinary kick-boxing fast-food worker planning to quit her job and go to college. She wakes up in a strange world where fantasy monsters are trying to kill her. There is no king, god, quest or guide to welcome her (official blurb). The exact first-chapter location is not stated in our sources.
Major Plot Points & Spoilers
- Ilea discovers that her new home runs on game-like rules (class, level and skills), which let her punch harder than she thought possible. The blurb frames her fighting as a viable career path.
- She sets out to learn about a world full of magic and uses it against bigger monsters, struggling to survive without a goal or a guide.
- The Book 2 blurb lists what she went through before the Shadow's Hand: non-stop elven attacks, dungeons, necromancers and Taleen murder machines. We take these as Book 1 content but cannot place them chapter by chapter.
- The Book 2 blurb also says she is 'still haunted by her encounter with the Taleen Praetorians', so that encounter comes at or near the end of Book 1.
Where the Book Leaves Off
Ilea has survived a run of elves, dungeons, necromancers and Taleen constructs, and the Taleen Praetorians encounter still haunts her. Per the Book 2 blurb she then heads south toward the Shadow's Hand. The exact final-chapter scene is not verified.
