About Progression Time
Built by a Listener with Too Many Open Tabs
Hi. You can call me Redacted—or just the guy behind the keyboard.
I’m not a big company, and this isn't an automated content farm. I’m just a dude who loves fantasy, sci-fi, video games, and an absurd amount of audiobooks.
If you looked at my library right now, you’d find six or seven audiobooks in progress at any given moment and at least 50 ongoing series I actively follow. Between grand strategy sessions in Stellaris, one-more-turn marathons in Civilization, and dropping into Fortnite Zero Build, there is almost always a narrator speaking in my ear.
When you immerse yourself in that many stories at once, reality catches up with you: you forget things.
A year passes between releases. You boot up the next entry of a massive saga, a side character steps onto the page with zero introduction, and your brain goes completely blank. Who was that again? Were they an ally from the tournament arc, or did they betray the party three realms ago?
Audiobooks make this even trickier. You can’t just easily flip back 200 pages to check an appendix or glance at a glossary while your hands are busy. You search a fandom wiki, and within two seconds you’ve accidentally read three massive plot spoilers from a book you haven’t even reached yet.
The Spark: Giving Readers a Clean Runway
Every now and then, an author does something awesome. Zogarth includes brief recap primers at the start of The Primal Hunter audiobooks, and every single time one plays, I appreciate it immensely. It respects the reader’s time and gets you locked right back into the flow of the story.
I wanted that experience for every series I love. Since a centralized, spoiler-safe place didn’t exist, I decided to build it myself.
My journey with fantasy started with the classics like The Lord of the Rings, but my first true love in fiction as an adult was Patrick Rothfuss’s The Name of the Wind. (Patrick, if you somehow stumble across this site while browsing: Doors of Stone, man. Please. We’re still waiting.) From there, I fell completely down the rabbit hole of Progression Fantasy, LitRPG, Cultivation, and modern epic sagas.
My Philosophy: Built for Me, Shared with You
The core idea behind Progression Time is straightforward:
- I built this for me first. It was born out of my own genuine need to remember where I left off in sprawling sagas without ruining future plot points.
- Strictly spoiler-gated. Recaps and entity glossaries are locked to specific book boundaries. What happens in Book 5 stays hidden until you actually tell the site you’ve finished Book 5.
- An ongoing passion project. I’m constantly refining the timelines, tuning the data, adding new sagas, and building companion tools to make picking up a series seamless.
Keeping the Lights On
For now, the site is clean, fast, and completely free of intrusive display ads.
Will it stay 100% ad-free forever? I honestly don't know—servers, databases, and edge infrastructure cost real money, and while it would be great to offset some of those costs down the road, monetization isn't why this exists. Right now, it's supported simply by coffee tips from fellow readers on Ko-fi.
We also use Amazon/Audible affiliate links across book cards—if you pick up an audiobook through those links, it sends a tiny cut back to support the servers at zero extra cost to you. Full details are on our Support page.
I prefer to keep my personal life offline and remain anonymous. No social media spam, no personal branding—just a gamer and dedicated listener building something useful for the community.
I built this platform because I needed it, and I genuinely hope it makes your reading and listening journeys better.
Enjoy the site, dodge the spoilers, and happy reading.
